  Again, an original soundtrack to a published clip (here’s the original:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE_kgt… read the notes!!!). This time the quality of the video is suboptimal because it’s a recompressed version of a really low-res version I downloaded from YouTube using a freeware tool. The clip is actually really old (november 2008) but I decided to publish it today for the heck of it ^_^

Mousse took the pictures, I wrote the music.

It’s been a very long time since I wrote and produced some music… You could say it’s a side effect of my new life… I got the sequence as an HD video clip directly from YouTube. I tried to experiment to make the transitions less abrupt. But then I decided it was better to keep it as-is. The concept of the soundtrack is the passing of time combined with the clearing of the sky. Hence the ticking watch. And the ticking is synchronised (60 BPM) with the frequency of the shots (two shots per second) while the track beats at 80 BPM (1.5 times the frequency). The result is an interesting 3:2 rhythm feel, enhanced by the rhythmically ambiguous melody played by the strings. Enjoy!
